Anambra State’s Expectations from its First Female SSG

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has made some significant appointments following his inauguration for a second term in Anambra State, Nigeria. One of the notable appointments is Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake who was appointed as the State’s first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The newly appointed SSG brings over 13 years of experience in finance, strategy development, and economic planning to the role appointed to her.

Mrs. Nnake has previously served as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in the State and contributed to the Anambra Vision 2070 plan. With her impressive background, the State expects a lot from her. She is expected to drive socio-economic development and promote reforms aimed at inclusive growth.

As a seasoned finance and public sector professional, Mrs. Nnake has the skills to mobilize, plan, and allocate State resources effectively. Some key areas she will likely focus on include economic development, leveraging her experience in finance and strategy development to boost the State’s economy. She will also champion reforms to improve ease of doing business and promote inclusive growth.

Other areas of focus for Mrs. Nnake, the new SSG will be social investment programmes, overseeing initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Anambra citizens. Given her impressive background, the State is optimistic about her ability to make a positive impact.

Other key appointments by Governor Soludo include Mrs. Ngozi Iwouno as Head of Service, Joachim Anetoh as Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Ben Nwankwo as Chief of Staff to the Governor, Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN) as Attorney-General, and Christian Aburime as Chief Press Secretary. Mr. Christian Aburime served in the Governor in the first term as the Chief Press Secretary and was return to serve again.
