Bride Allegedly Poisons Food at Wedding Reception

A joyous wedding celebration in Jahun Local Government Area, Jigawa State, Nigeria, has taken a tragic turn when the bride allegedly poisoned food served at the reception. This incident has left the groom in critical condition, and one of the guests dead.

According to eyewitnesses, the bride’s alleged actions may have been driven by a personal vendetta. However, the precise motive behind this shocking incident remains unknown. Shi’isu Adam, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the occurrence and assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the truth.

“We received a report that the bride had tainted the food served at the wedding reception, resulting in the groom’s critical illness,” Adam stated. “Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged food poisoning that took place during the wedding ceremony.”

Adam further disclosed that the suspects include the bride and another woman. Both individuals are currently in police custody, undergoing interrogation by the Criminal Investigation Department.

To reassure the public, Adam emphasized, “We will do everything in our power to ensure that justice is served. The command is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and will provide updates as more information becomes available. For now, we urge the public to remain calm.”

Thankfully, all the wedding guests who consumed the poisoned food, except for the deceased, have been discharged from the hospital. The identity of the deceased, the groom, and other affected individuals remains undisclosed.

“We can confirm that the incident occurred, and we are working diligently to uncover the facts. The public should be assured that justice will prevail,” Adam concluded.
